The puppies have reached the milestone of 8 weeks. Despite the cold weather they have managed a few trips outside. Bona still puts up with a little nursing from time to time. Most of the puppies will head home with their forever families this weekend. Please wish them well on their journeys!
Holy cow, how did we get here so fast! Pups are growing by leaps and bounds. The bitter cold finally retreated and they got to spend a little time outside, and in the snow, which they were in love with! They got to try out the tilt board, which was a big hit, especially for Cannon and Pattie. I got to have a visit with the pups over the weekend too. They had a lot of visitors and were absolutely exhausted by the end of the weekend.
Wow, how did that happen! They grow so fast! It has been too cold for much outside time this past week, but we are hoping for a little warmup soon. As you will see from their weights they are really getting big! This week they each had some one-on-one time with their momma for some “how to be a proper puppy” lessons. Since they are getting so big, our system of weighing them is not as precise, and may be variable, but doing our best.
Pattie (Pat’s Peak) Female Pink Collar 9.8 lbs.
Mo (Mohawk Mtn) Male Rose Red Collar 10.4 lbs.
Snow (Mount Snow) Male Neon Green Collar 9.0 lbs.
Cannon (Cannon Mtn.) Male Black Collar 10.2 lbs.
Oakie (Okemo) Male Orange Collar 9.5 lbs.
Addy (Attitash) Female Light Blue Collar 8.6 lbs.
Granite (Granite Gorge) Male Purple Collar 9.3 lbs.
What a difference a week makes! Puppies are growing like weeds, chowing down on their gruel, and playing with toys and each other a lot. Bona still allows considerable nursing, despite their sharp little teeth. They have a bigger play area, and have had their first tastes of being outside on the grass. They have their new collars, which has caused one puppy, Okemo, to have to revert to his orignal orange color.
Pattie (Pat’s Peak) Female Pink Collar 6.37 lbs.
Mo (Mohawk Mountain) Male Rose Red Collar 7.28 lbs
Snow (Mt. Snow) Male Neon Green Collar 6.20 lbs

Oakie (Okemo) Male Orange Collar 6.91 lbs.
Addy (Attitash) Female Light Blue Collar 6.18 lbs.
Granite (Granite Gorge) Male Purple Collar 6.08 lbs.
Berk (Berkshire East) Male Red Collar 6.79 lbs. He is not really sad. It was the best photo we could get of the busy boy.
The pups have graduated to eating gruel, though, they still love momma’s milk. They are starting to grow by leaps and bounds. Christmas preparations and celebrations have kept their human family very busy, so the update is a few days late this week. They also protested having to deal with a substitute photographer this round and did not want to sit still, except for Pattie (good girl!). That did not diminish their cuteness, however.
Pattie (Pat’s Peak) Female Pink Collar 5.14 lbs.
Mohawk (Mohawk Mtn) Male Rose Red Collar 5.63 lbs.
Snow (Mt. Snow) Male Green Collar 4.53 lbs.

Here are a few more from the week featuring holiday attire and experiences with gruel.
The pups continue to have good weight gains and Bona is being such a good mom. They are increasing their play with each other and are more interested in toys all the time. They are playing hard, then sleeping a lot. They have just been introduced to goats milk and are figuring out that new experience.
