Closer to Home Litter Five Week Update

The past week has brought marked changes in the puppies development. They are no longer walking with that wobbly baby walk, but are running and making little leaps. There is a lot of wrestling, a bit of howling at certain noises, and can see much better now. It is getting harder to sneak by them! They are intrigued with their Grandfather Ukko, though, he is not quite as enamored with them yet, and they are enjoying their playful Grandmother Reine. Their mother, Nukka, seems to be too busy making sure they are safe than to play with them.

Silver Hollow Litter Seven Week Update

Only one more week before all these beauties start to head out the door for their forever homes. They are really keeping their mom, Munjebel, and their human mom and dad very busy. As you can see, they have been able to enjoy a lot of outdoor time, and are interacting with each other, their mom, and humans in a big way.

Closer to Home Litter Four Week Update

Hard to believe these little ones are already four weeks old. They have started to adjust to their trips out into their yard, and have experienced cool days, hot and sunny days, and a tiny bit of rain, which they did not seem to notice at all. They are now starting to play with toys and interact on a much higher level. The puppies are starting to have a number of visitors and are reacting well with them. With each day comes a marked change in their behavior and ability to interact with their small world.

Silver Hollow Litter Six Week Update

Wk 6a

The Silver Hollow Litter puppies have been enjoying their garden enclosure, especially with the string of better weather. As they have gotten rougher in their play, their mom has been letting them know when enough is enough. While they are eating food on their own, momma Munjebel, is sill allowing them to nurse.

Closer to Home Litter Three Week Update

CTH Wk3m

The Closer to Home pups have turned three weeks old today. Today marked their first full day in their bigger enclosure in the room that will give them access to an enclosed outside yard, maybe as soon as tomorrow. They may be still wobbly, but are moving around quite well. They are beginning to hear sounds, and can definitely see a little more clearly. They are just starting to show their individual personalities, and have discovered that the cat can only be pushed so far.

Silver Hollow Litter Five Week Update

wk 5g

These puppies have really started to explore their surroundings and each other. They have been romping through the grass, over little stonewalls, and trying out new surfaces under their feet. Their personalities are showing through and we are getting a feel for who they are. They have enjoyed meeting visitors, and mom is enjoying getting to play with them, as well as a little more downtime.

Closer to Home Litter Two Week Update

CTH Wk2a

The Closer to Home puppies have turned two weeks old. They have opened their eyes, though, they can’t really see much yet. Some of them have been up on all fours with bold attempts at walking, but only hobble a couple of steps before toppling over. Soon they will be racing around. They still sleep most of the time, but are starting to be just a little more aware of their surroundings. They are really starting to stretch out and gain weight. Even little Tarra has more than tripled her weight with impressive gains.

Silver Hollow Litter Four Week Update

Another week has passed and the Silver Hollow Litter is moving right along. They have moved into new, roomier digs, with access to the great outdoors. The weather has been less than cooperative, so there have only been a couple of explorations on grass. However, they are beginning to run and are really starting to interact with each other and with people. Their personalities are beginning to surface too.

Closer to Home Litter One Week Update

Already a week has passed since these pups arrived here. They have had a bit of a slow start, because their momma’s milk has come in very slowly, but they are starting to pick up the pace in their growing. They are moving pretty quickly around the whelping box, and showing signs that they are getting ready for their first steps. Here they are posing for their weekly photos with one of our local forest residents and the official Cornwall flag.
